Entries for the 5th Setouchi Business Contest close at 10:00 a.m. on 9 November 2026. A new Corporate Co-Creation Category has been established, allowing students to submit proposals individually or as teams.
Applications are now open for the Setouchi Business Contest, which brings ideas for the future to life in collaboration with companies and government agencies. Entries close at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 9 November 2026, and applications are open to individuals and student teams.
For the 5th contest, a new Corporate Co-Creation Category has been established. The selection process will involve refining proposals through dialogue with representatives of companies and government agencies. Proposals are being sought on five themes: resource recycling, product development, communicating companies' appeal, coffins and end-of-life planning, and park utilization, with applicants asked to address challenges in each field.
Students who pass the selection process will spend the period from December 2026 to mid-March 2027 discussing their proposals with companies and developing and testing prototypes. Final presentations will be held on 28 March 2027 at Estparc in Fukuyama. Entries will be judged without ranking, and participants will generally be responsible for costs incurred during the co-creation period.
Applications are also being accepted for the Free Category. The judges are expected to include Abe Toshiki (安部敏樹), and the winners of the Grand Prize, Excellence Award and Audience Award will receive funding and support for commercialization. The contest is hosted by 一般社団法人スタイリィ and run by its steering committee.
