Japan Finance Corporation established additional “special consultation desks” at all of its branches in Kanagawa Prefecture to support businesses, agriculture, forestry and fisheries operators and others affected by Typhoon No. 25 of 2026. Desks had already been established on 24 September, but the corporation is stepping up its rapid and detailed response as the damage spreads.
Special consultation desks have been newly added at Japan Finance Corporation branches across Kanagawa Prefecture to advise small and medium-sized enterprises, small businesses, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries operators affected by Typhoon No. 25 on cash-flow management and repayment of existing loans. The existing desks will continue operating, strengthening the support system further.
The main lending program is a disaster recovery loan for small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses. The term is up to 10 years for working capital and up to 20 years for capital expenditure, with loan limits of ¥30 million under the National Life Business (an additional amount under each program) and ¥150 million under the SME Business (a separate allocation).
For agriculture, forestry and fisheries operators, the Forestry, Fisheries and Agriculture Facilities Funds, which are needed to restore damaged facilities, and the Forestry, Fisheries and Agriculture Safety-Net Funds for business reconstruction are available to support recovery.
The National Education Loan can also be used as a special disaster measure based on disaster damage certificates and other documents issued by municipalities for people whose homes have been damaged.
Inquiries can be made at the Yokohama, Yokohama Chuo, Kawasaki, Odawara or Atsugi branches, or through the corporation’s website.
