GEO Holdings changed its corporate name to セカンドリテイリング effective 1 October and announced plans to enter global markets with its integrated reuse store brand 2nd STREET as its core business.
GEO Holdings changed its corporate name to セカンドリテイリング effective 1 October. The company said it aims to make its reuse business its core operation, grow it into Japan's largest by scale and expand into global markets.
Its principal brands are the integrated reuse store 2nd STREET and the DVD rental chain GEO. The name change appears to reflect a shift in its business structure and an expansion of its business scope.
Current revenue is approaching ¥500 billion, with the reuse business reportedly accounting for more than 60% of total sales. The company plans to build on this momentum to solidify its position as Japan's largest reuse company and pursue expansion worldwide.
