Resona Bank will strengthen its support for Japanese companies entering the Indian market by signing a business cooperation MOU with Tata Capital, one of India's largest financial companies. A Japan Desk will be established to promote the use of local financial services.
Resona Bank announced on 24 August that it had signed a business cooperation MOU with Tata Capital, a major financial company under India's Tata Group. The agreement aims to strengthen support for companies considering entering the Indian market and Japanese companies already operating there.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Tata Capital is a non-bank financial company that provides corporate finance, equipment finance, housing finance, supply chain finance and personal finance. It has total assets of approximately $29.3 billion, 1,477 branches across India and more than 8.4 million customers.
Under the agreement, Tata Capital will establish a Japan Desk where consultations will be available in Japanese. The desk will provide information on Indian market trends and the investment environment, facilitate business matching for Japanese companies and support the use of financing by local subsidiaries.
Resona Bank said it aims to provide comprehensive support to Japanese companies seeking to expand their business opportunities in the Indian market by leveraging the Japan Desk and Tata Capital's network.
