On 28 October, AutoStore announced new products and features, including FlexBinsPort, which can handle bins of different heights on a single unit. It outlined plans to integrate hardware, software and AI, advancing automation toward autonomy.
AutoStore, which develops cube-based automated storage systems, simultaneously announced multiple new products and features, including FlexBinsPort. FlexBinsPort is designed to process bins of different heights on a single workstation, while other enhancements, including AutoCase, were also introduced to connect case-level and piece-level processing in a single system. The company also announced Pio Pal, a robotic picking solution for small and midsize businesses, as well as CubeExplore for AI-based ROI assessment, CubeStudio for design support and CubeFleet for maintenance support.
AutoStore outlined plans to evolve its product portfolio through the integrated development of hardware, software and AI, with the aim of moving beyond conventional automation to autonomy. The company estimated that FlexBinsPort, which supports all standard bin heights, would improve storage efficiency and labor efficiency. AutoCase connects case receiving, storage and retrieval with piece picking in a single system, enabling a stable supply to downstream processes.
Pio Pal is a service-based solution that provides robotic picking as a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) offering for small and midsize businesses. When orders are picked in advance, packing throughput is said to reach up to 540 order lines per hour, while performance can increase by up to 3 times without adding staff. The company also explained plans to incorporate AI into pre-deployment support, including investment assessment and the earlier use of AI in design decisions.
