MTG raised its full-year earnings and dividend forecasts in its earnings announcement on 4 August. The share price surged after the announcement, and interest in the stock is growing as a September-end record-date issue.
On 4 August, MTG released its financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending September 2026 and raised its full-year consolidated earnings forecasts. Net sales were raised from ¥135 billion to ¥142 billion, operating profit from ¥15 billion to ¥16 billion, ordinary profit from ¥15 billion to ¥16 billion, and net profit from ¥10 billion to ¥11 billion. The dividend forecast was also increased, with the year-end dividend raised from the previous ¥33 to ¥37, bringing the expected annual dividend to ¥37.
The share price surged after the earnings announcement, rising from the 4 August closing price of ¥7,400 to ¥9,400, an all-time high, in three weeks. The upward revision is attributed to sales growth and improved gross profit margins resulting from stronger brand value, while full-year progress rates have also remained high. Details of the shareholder benefits tied to the end-September record date have also been finalized.
MTG’s leading business is direct marketing, centered on the direct sale of products such as ReFa and SIXPAD. Net sales are in the ¥38 billion range and segment profit is approximately ¥10.5 billion, driving overall earnings. The high direct-sales ratio is considered a factor supporting the business’s high profit margin. The retail store business is also expanding, but its segment profit is lower than that of the direct marketing business.
The final cum-rights trading day for the shareholder benefits and dividend is 27 August, and attention is building ahead of the determination of entitlements for the stock whose record date is 30 September.
