The Ministry of Economy and Environment has opened an application process for Ukrainian technology companies and is inviting them to participate in a Kobe forum aimed at creating opportunities for collaboration with Japanese businesses. The event will be held on 20 October in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.
The Ministry of Economy and Environment has launched an open call for Ukrainian technology companies wishing to participate in the Japan-Ukraine Advanced Technology Business Forum. The forum will be held in Kobe and aims to provide opportunities to localize and commercialize Ukraine’s technological capabilities in cooperation with Japanese companies.
Approximately 20 Ukrainian companies are expected to participate. Some will be selected through a business mission organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), while the remainder will be chosen through an open selection process conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Environment. The selected companies will introduce their products and solutions to Japanese companies and investors, and will have opportunities to take part in B2B meetings and business matching, as well as to collaborate with relevant organizations.
Training will be provided for participants before they travel, offering an opportunity to learn about the characteristics of doing business in Japan. The forum is expected to lead to entry into the Japanese market and the launch of joint ventures with local partners.
Applications are due by 28 August 2026, and participating companies will cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. The event in Kobe is expected to provide Ukrainian companies with a venue to showcase their achievements in international markets and build direct relationships with Japanese partners.
