A succession of new AI smart glasses for people with visual impairments has emerged. Rokid announced YodaOS-native AI smart glasses, 天視智能 released an enhanced version with offline capabilities, and 杭州瞳行科技 upgraded “Tongzhe,” its AI smart glasses for people with visual impairments, to the second generation.
A succession of new AI smart glasses equipped with scene-recognition capabilities has emerged for people with visual impairments, expanding the practical applications of visual assistance. At its 2026 ecosystem and developer conference, Rokid announced a YodaOS-native AI smart-glasses OS and outlined a structure for providing accessibility solutions for people with visual and hearing impairments. The system integrates functions including environmental awareness, object recognition, text-to-speech and Q&A.
天視智能 completed an upgrade of its vision-assistance AI smart glasses in late July, equipping them with an offline multimodal large language model. It established a two-mode voice system consisting of command-based operation and interactive dialogue, and connected it to Doubao's voice channel. The glasses can be operated using only the device's button and voice commands, without requiring a smartphone connection, enabling stable recognition even in places without internet access, such as underground passageways.
杭州瞳行科技 also upgraded “Tongzhe,” its AI smart glasses for people with visual impairments. In the second generation, the range of recognizable obstacles has expanded, while response latency has been reduced from 300 ms to 60–70 ms. The previous version recognized pedestrians, vehicles and traffic signals, and could also read road signs, street addresses and bus-stop signs aloud.
童銀豊 (Tong Yinfeng), a partner of 天視智能, said that introducing new smart glasses as assistive devices requires support from specialized services and efforts to raise awareness, and identified expansion in regional areas as the next challenge.
