大光電機株式会社 made a donation to Miyakonojo City’s Fast-Growing Paulownia Demonstration Project under the corporate hometown tax donation scheme, followed by a ceremony to present a certificate of appreciation. The donation was made on 26 March 2026, and the presentation ceremony was held on 6 August of the same year.
大光電機株式会社 is a lighting manufacturer headquartered in Chuo-ku, Osaka, and its representative is President and Representative Director Kushima Ryuichi (串間隆一). Miyakonojo Mayor Ikeda Takahisa (池田宜永) and representatives of the company attended the ceremony.
The company said that, as it approaches its 80th anniversary, it made the donation in support of initiatives aimed at creating a recycling-based society and promoting sustainable regional development. The corporate hometown tax donation scheme provides tax relief to companies that donate to regional revitalization projects certified by the national government.
As a general illustration of the scheme, it was explained that up to approximately 90% of the donation may be offset through reductions in corporate-related taxes. Further details are also available on Miyakonojo City’s official information page.
