The new NEXO is being introduced to the Japanese market, with a report on the Voyage grade alongside an overview of the current state of hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles and HTWO’s initiatives. The official Japan launch begins in April 2026.
The new Hyundai NEXO is being introduced in Japan, and a test-drive report from around Shin-Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, describes the experience for the Japanese market. The vehicle tested was the entry-level Voyage grade. As part of a joint media feature, the lifestyle editor of GQ JAPAN reports on the vehicle’s on-road performance.
The vehicle’s features include exterior design elements such as Seamless Horizon Lamps, which accentuate the front end, and Active Air Flaps, which streamline airflow while driving. The report also discusses improvements in aerodynamic performance.
Hyundai has set out to build the entire hydrogen value chain under its hydrogen brand HTWO, including hydrogen production, storage and transportation. It was also noted that the NEXO was launched globally in 2025 and has already sold more than 7,500 units.
The Japan launch begins in April 2026, as part of efforts to promote adoption in the domestic market.
