The special exhibition “Beyond the Window,” featuring Aichi-born contemporary artist Uchida Reina (内田麗奈), will be held for a limited time at KOMEHYO Nagoya Main Store BAG+ from 24 October (Sat) to 1 November (Sun) 2026. During the exhibition, Uchida’s signature work “Dreams of Cro-Magnon” and her pencil manga “It Began with Cro-Magnon” will also be exhibited and offered for sale.
The featured work is “Dreams of Cro-Magnon,” a large curtain artwork combining imagery from cave paintings with kimono fabric. It is designed so that, when opened, viewers can look out at the scenery they want to see. The pencil manga “It Began with Cro-Magnon” is also scheduled to be offered for special sale as part of the exhibition during the same period.
In the workshop “Open Up! My Window of Dreams,” participants will create a curtain by collaging colored paper with support from Uchida, without needing to draw. They can take their completed work home. The workshop will be held 3 times a day at 11:00, 14:00 and 15:00 on 24, 25 and 31 October and 1 November. The participation fee is ¥1,500, and reservations are required.
In the visitor-participation event “Beyond the Window,” a large curtain made from kimono offcuts will be installed with a blank white sheet behind it, like a window. Visitors will add scenery, or “dreams,” to complete one large picture. The work will be exhibited during the exhibition and is scheduled to remain on public display for a certain period afterward.
