A Singapore subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric has joined the STDCT 2.0 Consortium, a demonstration project for data centers in tropical regions led by the National University of Singapore, with the aim of establishing a sustainable operating model for AI data centers in tropical regions.
Yokogawa Engineering Asia, a Singapore subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric, participated in a demonstration project of the STDCT 2.0 Consortium led by the National University of Singapore. The project is a collaboration among industry, academia and government, and aims to establish a sustainable operating model for AI data centers in tropical regions.
The consortium is advancing a plan to develop a data center cluster with capacity of up to 700 MW on Jurong Island, and is expected to verify operations under the area's challenging environmental conditions, including high temperatures and humidity.
Through this demonstration project, the parties are expected to share technologies and operating methods suited to data center operations in tropical regions and strengthen cooperation among industry, academia and government.
This initiative is positioned as part of efforts to improve the sustainability of the region's data center industry.
