Hitachi Solutions proposes building an information foundation centred on Box that enables companies to use information rather than simply store it. The company sets out practical points for organising data in the AI era, along with 5 specific requirements.
Hitachi Solutions says that, through the implementation and use of Box, keeping internal information from becoming scattered and ensuring that it remains up to date are prerequisites for using AI. The bottlenecks at the operational level are the location and freshness of information, and the company says it is important to create an environment in which information can be accessed across AI and internal systems.
Inadequate permission design and excessive information sharing can reduce the quality of the information accessed by AI. Permissions need to be reviewed appropriately after transfers and departures, but the view was expressed that rolling this out across the company would be a significant burden.
The presence of power users who champion AI adoption is considered important to driving change at the operational level. AI adoption is expected to advance when these users apply an approach of turning practical issues into AI agents and promote it across the organisation.
To limit the dispersal of information, one proposal is to clarify the division of roles among SaaS tools. Under this proposal, Teams would handle communication, Office/SharePoint document creation and collaborative editing, and Box long-term storage and governance.
