Shimano has announced the Active Insulation Jacket WJ-055Z as cold-weather wear for winter fishing. Its high-hollow-fiber yarn, Aero Capsule®, improves warmth retention, while the outer fabric is approximately 10% lighter to minimize restriction of movement.
Shimano has updated its standard cold-weather wear for winter fishing with the launch of the new Active Insulation Jacket WJ-055Z. Aero Capsule® is used as the insulation, providing greater warmth while reducing weight.
The outer fabric has been reduced in weight by approximately 10%, from about 38g/㎡ for the previous product to 34g/㎡. Its slight stretch minimizes pulling during casting and landing fish. Insulation is concentrated in the front and back panels, while an insulation-mapping structure without insulation under the arms is used. This combines warmth while moving with reduced chill from perspiration during activity. Water-repellent knit and synthetic insulation are combined at the cuffs, where water is likely to reach, to prevent chilling caused by water penetration.
Brushed tricot is used on the inside of the waist pockets to keep hands warm, and dedicated tape is provided to prevent static electricity. Adjustable drawcords at the hem help keep cold air out.
