EE, a subsidiary of エンバイオ・ホールディングス, announced that it had applied for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's support program to prevent the spread of groundwater contamination and that its “combined soil vapor extraction and chemical degradation remediation method” had been certified. The certified technology is classified as in situ remediation and is scheduled to be presented at the 21st Soil Contamination Treatment Technology Forum on 18 November 2026.
エンバイオ・エンジニアリング (EE) applied for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's public call for applications under its support program to prevent the spread of groundwater contamination and was certified in the field of “technologies for preventing the spread of groundwater contamination applicable to operating sites” as a “combined soil vapor extraction and chemical degradation remediation method.” The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will provide certified technologies with support of up to ¥30 million per case if the applicable conditions are met. EE plans to present the technology at the forum on 18 November that year.
The technology involves installing a well for soil vapor extraction and a well for chemical injection in a single borehole, enabling soil vapor extraction and chemical injection to be carried out simultaneously while reducing on-site material costs, with the aim of shortening the remediation period and reducing operating costs. Specifically, it combines soil vapor extraction (SVE) and chemical degradation methods, using oxidizing agents, activated sodium persulfate and other reagents according to the contamination conditions at the site, targeting hazardous substances including tetrachloroethylene.
