Tokyo Gas and エムニ will jointly hold a free online seminar on 19 October on using AI to pass on tacit knowledge from maintenance sites to the next generation. The seminar will introduce practical examples of collecting on-site know-how and implementing AI.
Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. and エムニ will hold a free online seminar for manufacturers, “Passing the ‘Master Craftsman’s Knowledge’ from Maintenance Sites to the Next Generation: The Challenge of AI for Passing on Tacit Knowledge,” from 12:00 to 13:00 on 19 October 2026. The seminar will be held online via a Zoom webinar. Registration closes at 11:00 on the same day, and participation is free.
The first session will introduce practical examples and future plans for the “Maintenance Know-How Succession Service,” which uses AI to convert the judgments and key insights of experienced on-site personnel into a shared corporate asset rather than leaving them dependent on individuals. Tokyo Gas will discuss its efforts to organise on-site know-how for AI, while エムニ will present examples of using voice and dialogue to collect know-how, detect signs of abnormalities, analyse drawings and optimise inspection intervals.
The cross-talk session in the second half will explore the front line of verbalising tacit knowledge and implementing it on site, design principles that encourage on-site adoption, and points to consider when large companies collaborate with startups. The speakers will be Ichikawa Tetsuri (市川哲理) (Tokyo Gas) and Shimono Yuta (下野祐太) (エムニ), moderated by Monzen Kazuma (門前一馬) (エムニ).
