Out-of-region supermarkets are stepping up store openings in central Japan. ベイシア is changing 三心's format and expanding across a total of 3 stores, including the Ginan store. Meanwhile, ラ・ムー is considering opening a store in Higashiura.
Food supermarkets headquartered outside the Chubu region are stepping up store openings in central Japan. With the regional economy remaining stable, led by manufacturing, the companies are seeking to capture steady personal consumption by highlighting local specialities, including regional cuisine.
After making 三心 a wholly owned subsidiary, ベイシア opened the ベイシアフーズパーク Ginan store on the 11th, using the store in Ginan. This winter, it plans to change the formats of a total of 3 stores, including the Tamanoi store, the former store, and next spring plans to open a store using the building of the Uzura store in Gifu. The Ginan store offers prepared foods, sushi and sweets, centred on local specialities.
大黒天物産, which is based in western Japan, is considering opening a discount store under the ラ・ムー brand in Higashiura, Aichi Prefecture, with the opening expected in 2027 or later. Osaka-ya Shop, which is based in Hokuriku, plans to open a new store this autumn in Akaikecho, Nisshin, offering fresh seafood and bread from Hokuriku. It aims to make this its fourth store across Aichi and Gifu prefectures. The site is said to be in Ogawa, Higashiura, and the company expects to attract customers from a wide area.
The company has set a target of increasing store sales in Aichi and Gifu prefectures to approximately ¥20 billion and is pursuing a strategy of developing the area as a priority region.
