Cainz announced on the 6th that it would acquire shares in ソニテック and acquire all of its shares effective the 19th, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The purchase price was not disclosed, but Cainz aims to expand its business by strengthening its renovation business and building materials supply network.
Founded in 1967, ソニテック has 11 sales offices nationwide and provides an integrated service covering estimates, sales and delivery management for building materials such as screws and insulation. Its consolidated revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2026 was approximately ¥9.4 billion.
Cainz is expanding its store network around suburban home improvement centers and has been developing plans since 2025 to operate a small-format renovation business in urban areas. By bringing ソニテック under its umbrella, Cainz plans to expand its renovation business and secure a stable supply of building materials.
