SHIFT was awarded a contract from the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency for its “hands-on support services for startups and non-defense industries” and will launch a project running for approximately 9 months from 9 July 2026. The project will target startups and non-defense industries and provide hands-on support, from examining the application of their technologies to defense missions.
As part of the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency’s initiative to apply advanced private-sector technologies in the defense sector, SHIFT was awarded a contract to provide hands-on support services. SHIFT will handle the entire process, from planning information sessions through designing and operating the selection process.
Selected companies will be commissioned to conduct research aimed at identifying the potential and challenges involved in applying their proposed technologies to defense missions, and will receive hands-on support from professionals with experience in the defense business. This will support the entry of startups and non-defense industries into the defense sector.
SHIFT entered the defense sector in 2022 and established JADC, a consulting company specializing in the defense sector, in 2025. It offers multiple security-related services, including support for compliance with the RMF and the Defense Industry Cybersecurity Standard.
The project is scheduled to run for approximately 9 months, from 9 July 2026 through 26 March 2027. It aims to promote public-private collaboration in this sector and contribute to improving the safety and reliability of defense technologies.
