The Nikkei 225 fell sharply in the morning session, declining to near its closing level. The sharp fall in Amazon, which released results in the U.S., appears to have spread a risk-off mood.
In morning trading in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell sharply, down 2.54% from the previous day at 16,39 yen 6,9 sen, to ¥60,301.78. Movements in Amazon.com, which released results in the U.S., heightened market caution.
The sharp decline in Amazon shares following the company's earnings release also affected the Japanese equity market, with reports indicating that risk aversion intensified from the morning.
