A Vietnam–Japan industry–academia forum focused on developing, assessing and matching highly skilled IT talent in the generative AI era will be held at Tokyo Innovation Base in Tokyo on 18 September. Admission is free, and the program will include presentations on initial survey findings, the Talent Bridge model and the signing of an MOU.
The forum will be jointly organized by 在日ベトナムDX協会 (VADX Japan) and SUCCESS PARTNER and held at TOKYO Innovation Base (TIB) from 13:00 to 17:00. It is positioned as a kickoff event to build an ecosystem for developing, assessing and matching highly skilled IT talent equipped to meet the demands of the generative AI era.
The event comes against a backdrop of changing talent requirements as companies expand their use of AI and robotics. According to estimates by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, demand for AI talent is expected to reach 7.82 million in 2040, compared with a supply of 4.43 million, implying a shortfall of approximately 3.39 million. The focus is shifting from quantity to quality, as well as to talent development and retention.
The program is expected to include presentations on the initial findings of the Vietnam–Japan Workforce Readiness survey, an introduction to the Talent Bridge model, and the signing of an MOU on industry–academia collaboration. 日本・精神技術研究所 (Nisseiken) will participate as a specialist partner, while FPTジャパンホールディングス will support the forum as a sponsoring company.
Going forward, the organizers plan to develop the forum into an ongoing initiative rather than a one-off event, bringing together companies, universities, research institutions and human resources services companies to advance the development of a highly skilled IT talent ecosystem, with training programs and talent-matching initiatives to be rolled out in stages.
