Takamiya and Muscle have developed a concept model of a wire-operated vertical parallel-link robot and begun exhibiting it as “future scaffolding,” with the work platform moving to suit site conditions. In accordance with Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare regulations, they initially aim to commercialize it for transporting temporary equipment.
Takamiya jointly developed a concept model of a wire-operated vertical parallel-link robot with Muscle, a partner company in Osaka. It has begun exhibiting the model at Takamiya’s research and development facility as future scaffolding that can move the work platform according to site conditions.
The work platform has a box-shaped structure and moves to a specified position using a function that automatically adjusts wire tension through multiple servo motors. It is intended for use at sites involving high-rise buildings, bridges and other structures.
Commercialization has not yet been scheduled. The company plans to begin verification for transporting temporary equipment, based on the Gondola Safety Regulations set by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
