デンカ and トクヤマ completed the supply of CO2-free fuel and combustion equipment at the Nanyo Plant and began trial production and verification of CO2-fixing admixtures. Going forward, they aim to confirm stable combustion by co-firing hydrogen and ammonia, optimize combustion conditions, and increase the proportion of CO2-free fuel used.
デンカ and トクヤマ are participating in CUCO (a carbon-negative concrete initiative) as part of the Green Innovation Fund project promoted by NEDO. デンカ has been commissioned by NEDO to conduct research and development and is advancing the development of manufacturing technology for CO2-fixing admixtures.
トクヤマ has installed CO2-free fuel supply and combustion equipment at the Nanyo Plant, enabling combustion verification using CO2-free fuel. In verification testing, hydrogen and ammonia were co-fired with heavy oil, confirming stable combustion.
Going forward, the companies will optimize combustion conditions, increase the proportion of CO2-free fuel used, and continue trial production and performance evaluation of CO2-fixing admixtures.
The consortium aims to develop carbon-negative concrete and establish a manufacturing system to reduce CO2 emissions. It is also verifying the use of Ca-containing waste as a raw material.
