On 28 August, ヤマックス sharply lowered its forecast for first-half net income from the previous estimate and also cut its full-year outlook. The expected recognition of a special loss related to the Kumamoto earthquake was cited as the background to the revisions.
In the afternoon session on 28 August 2026, ヤマックス revised its consolidated net income forecast for the six months ended September 2026, the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2027, down 37.7% from the previous forecast of ¥6.9 billion to ¥4.3 billion. Net income was ¥9.7 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The decline is now expected to widen from 29.3% to 55.9%.
Against the backdrop of weaker first-half results, full-year consolidated net income was also revised down 12.6%, from the previous forecast of ¥19.0 billion to ¥16.7 billion, compared with ¥20.7 billion in the previous fiscal year. The decline is now expected to widen from 7.7% to 19.3%.
The reason for the revisions was that, following an assessment of the estimated damage at this point from the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in July 2026, a special loss of approximately ¥340 million is expected to be recorded in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. The dividend forecast remains unchanged, with the company planning to maintain its ordinary dividend at ¥60 per share.
