Kotobukiya has announced Entry Plug Chopsticks, chopsticks modeled on the Entry Plug. Priced at ¥1,260 and scheduled for release in December, the first release will consist of sets pairing Unit-00 with Rei Ayanami and Unit-01 with Shinji Ikari.
Kotobukiya has announced a new product modeled on Evangelion from its popular Chopsticks series. These chopsticks are designed in the shape of Entry Plugs, with release scheduled for December at a provisional price of ¥1,260. The first release will consist of the pairings Unit-00 + Rei Ayanami and Unit-01 + Shinji Ikari.
Clear parts in colors inspired by the respective machines are used from the tips through the handles, creating a vivid finish. The product is described as finely reproducing features such as the characters' hair and body lines through repeated consultations with the prototype sculptor.
The development representative said the team was “taking on a level of detail never seen before.” The paintwork is performed almost entirely by hand, in an effort to achieve not only realistic figure sculpting but also a “smallest” two-dimensional expression.
Entry Plug Chopsticks will be available at Kotobukiya directly operated stores as well as hobby shops and variety-goods stores nationwide. Unit-02 + Asuka Shikinami Langley and Provisional Unit-05 + Mari Makinami Illustrious are also scheduled for release in January 2011.
