An investigation based on a named list published by a weekly magazine found that vegetables sourced from China are used by multiple restaurant chains, including CoCo Ichibanya.
This publication conducted an in-depth investigation into whether restaurant chains use Chinese-produced vegetables and is publishing the findings as a named list. In Part 1, a notable number of companies declined to respond to inquiries. 幸楽苑, known for its Kitakata ramen, did not provide a response, while 餃子の王将 said that its main ingredients are domestically sourced. リンガーハット indicated that it uses only domestically sourced vegetables, including pickles. 鳥貴族 said that it also uses domestically sourced vegetables, while 串カツ田中 and 魚民 did not use Chinese-produced Chinese cabbage but did use other Chinese-produced vegetables.
The report also covered CoCo壱番屋, where much of the vegetables essential as main ingredients in its curry are Chinese-produced, and conveyed information that even the pickled shallots served as a condiment are Chinese-produced. 大戸屋, ジョイフル and 松屋 also declined to disclose information on their websites, while their use of Chinese-produced vegetables was confirmed.
