In August 2026, same-store sales at the 3 major companies, AIGAN, Zoff and JINS Holdings, were down year on year. AIGAN was down 1.0%, Zoff 6.7% and JINS 2.0%, with adverse weather also cited as affecting customer traffic.
The 3 major eyewear chains released preliminary sales figures for August 2026. Same-store sales were down year on year at all 3 companies: AIGAN by 1.0%, Zoff by 6.7% and JINS Holdings by 2.0%.
According to AIGAN's preliminary figures, August sales were down 1.0% year on year on a same-store basis and down 2.4% on an all-store basis. These figures relate to the eyewear retail segment and not to the company as a whole.
For Zoff, operated by Intermestic, August same-store sales were reported as down 6.7% and all-store sales as down 1.8% following a correction. The company explained that sales did not exceed the customer-traffic benefit seen in the same month last year.
JINS Holdings reported a 2.0% year-on-year decline in August same-store sales and a 4.9% increase in all-store sales. Same-store sales fell short of the previous year for the third consecutive month, while all-store sales remained positive. Adverse weather was analysed as one of the contributing factors.
