Tokyo stocks fell back on the 19th. Selling spread from the morning, particularly among related stocks, as the decline in US technology stocks weighed on the market, with the Nikkei Average temporarily falling more than ¥1,400.
The Nikkei Average fell back on Monday the 19th. Although the decline did not reach the scale of ¥5,000 at any point, the index fell below ¥64,000 for the first time in about a month.
The Nikkei closed ¥407.59 lower than at the end of the previous week at ¥64,916.70. The Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) rose 1.48 points to 4,067.48, while trading volume was approximately 2.06192 billion shares.
The view was expressed that the decline in US technology stocks had affected Japan's domestic equity market.
