Through its Gifu Branch (formerly Mino Branch), ONOKEN CO.,LTD. accepted local junior high school students from Sonan Junior High School in Gifu Prefecture for workplace experience for the third consecutive year. The programme took place on 16 and 17 September and was attended by 3 students. It was held at the Gifu Branch in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture, and focused primarily on experiencing the steel processing process.
On the first day, the students had the opportunity to learn about the company's business and workplace operations through a company briefing, factory tour, and explanations and hands-on experience with processing equipment. On the second day, with safety in mind, they cut steel themselves and experienced removing the resulting burrs and finishing the products.
Gifu Branch Manager Ito Yoshiaki (伊藤義昭) reported that the two-day programme ended safely without incident and reflected that each student had participated with different objectives and perspectives. He said the company hoped the experience would deepen their understanding of manufacturing and working.
