China-origin fashion brand ICICLE has appointed former Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno (サバト・デ・サルノ). His first collection is scheduled to be presented for the Fall/Winter 2027 season.
Chinese fashion brand ICICLE has appointed Sabato De Sarno (サバト・デ・サルノ) as creative director. Under the new leadership, the brand is expected to overhaul its design direction and move forward with implementing its brand vision.
Born in Naples, Italy, Sabato built his career at Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino before becoming Gucci's creative director in 2023. He was reportedly no longer in the role by 2025. His first collection is expected to be presented for the Fall/Winter 2027 season.
ICICLE was established in Shanghai in 1997 with a focus on sustainable manufacturing using high-quality natural materials. The brand has its own factories in China and has also opened a design center in Paris. ワールド is supporting its expansion in the Japanese market, while Kering announced in 2026 that it had acquired a minority stake in the company's operating entity.
The brand has expanded through initiatives including the opening of a flagship store on Avenue George V in Paris and a network of 276 stores in China. Sabato's appointment is viewed as a move intended to accelerate ICICLE's global expansion.
