KEY COFFEE has published the KEY COFFEE Sustainability Report 2026, summarising its sustainability activities during fiscal 2025. The opening feature introduces Toraja training on Indonesia's Sulawesi Island.
KEY COFFEE has compiled its business activities related to sustainability during fiscal 2025 and published the KEY COFFEE Sustainability Report 2026 on the sustainability section of its corporate website. The report reviews activities during fiscal 2025 (April 2025–March 2026) and presents initiatives from environmental, social and governance perspectives.
The report identifies five material issues: responding to global warming, reducing environmental impact, responsible procurement and the development and provision of products, improving employee engagement and promoting diversity, and strengthening corporate governance. It also describes specific activities and progress on medium-term initiatives addressing these issues.
The opening feature introduces Toraja training. The programme consists of domestic preparatory training and field training at the company's directly operated Padamaran plantation in the Toraja region. Selected employees from across Japan take part with the aim of developing people who understand and can communicate the value of Toarco Toraja.
Toraja coffee is delivered to Japan as Toarco Toraja after processes including hand-picking fully ripe red cherries and removing defective beans. KEY COFFEE is seeking to deepen initiatives in the producing region that it has cultivated together with the local community for half a century.
The training is designed to help participants understand the background through experiences that connect them with producing regions. The report reflects the company's policy of preserving coffee shop culture and achieving sustainable coffee production.
