Rengo announced consolidated net profit of ¥20.8 billion for April-September 2026, revising the figure upward to an 89% increase year on year. The main factors were the contribution from higher prices for film materials and front-loaded demand stemming from tensions in the Middle East.
Rengo's results for April-September 2026 showed revenue of ¥554.1 billion, up 11% year on year, operating profit of ¥33.3 billion, up 67%, and net profit of ¥20.8 billion, up 89%. These figures exceeded the previous forecasts by ¥9.1 billion, ¥8.3 billion and ¥3.8 billion, respectively. With the earnings announcement date approaching, the company is showing significantly higher profitability overall than in the previous year.
The sharp increase in net profit for the period was attributed to progress in price revisions for paper containers, as well as front-loaded demand arising from the impact of tensions in the Middle East. As a result, both revenue and profit exceeded the previous forecasts.
The company plans to leave its consolidated full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 unchanged. It expects raw material prices, including recovered paper and pulp, to rise more than anticipated in the second half, while the downturn in its corrugated packaging business for automotive parts in Europe is expected to continue.
The results for April-September 2026 are scheduled to be formally announced on the 5th, and attention is focused on any additional information.
