In its interim results for the fiscal year ending December 2026 announced on the 7th, INPEX reported net profit of ¥263.147 billion, up 17.7% year on year, helped by a decrease in income tax expense and other factors. Revenue was ¥1.40495 trillion, down 4.6% year on year, but higher average selling prices for overseas crude oil and the weaker yen helped boost earnings.
The company also raised its full-year earnings forecast and announced plans to increase its annual dividend from ¥108 to ¥112 and conduct a share buyback of up to ¥140 billion as part of its shareholder returns. The Ichthys project, a core business, benefited most from higher crude oil prices and drove the increase in net profit.
