Kyushu Electric Power plans to establish the pure holding company “キューデンホールディングス” on 1 October, with Nakamura Norihiro (中村 典弘) becoming its new president. The company said it aims to speed decision-making by reorganizing its businesses into subsidiaries, thereby increasing profits and strengthening the stable supply of electricity.
Kyushu Electric Power has outlined a policy of advancing executive appointments and organizational restructuring on the premise that it will establish a pure holding company. Nakamura Norihiro (中村 典弘) is scheduled to become president of Kyushu Electric, which says it will improve business efficiency through its subsidiaries under the holding company.
The aim is to speed decision-making and increase profits by making the businesses, including Kyushu Electric, subsidiaries. Nakamura said he believes this will also contribute to stabilizing the electricity business.
The company also acknowledged that its low equity ratio is a challenge and pointed to the cost of replacing nuclear power plants as a financial concern.
Nakamura emphasized that strengthening the financial base with profits generated by subsidiaries under the holding company would also contribute to a stable supply of electricity.
