US-based Comu has changed its brand name to “Comu” and will launch the Comu Action Pro AI voice recorder for the Japanese market on 20 August 2026. The initial launch price will be ¥29,800 including tax, compared with a regular price of ¥39,800 including tax.
US smart-office company Comu has announced, through its Japanese distributor, that it has renamed its brand “Comu” and will launch its second-generation Comu Action Pro AI voice recorder in Japan. The company is positioning the device as an AI partner that supports work after meetings, rather than merely recording them.
The new brand drops “Note” and adopts “Action,” with a design focused not only on recording but also on generating work outputs such as organized information and drafts. Key features include real-time transcription, multilingual translation, and summaries, as well as one-tap creation of follow-up emails, action items, presentation proposals, and structured notes.
The product uses a 6-microphone array to improve noise resistance and is designed for a pickup range of approximately 7 meters. It also supports reminders to prepare for meetings, up to 70 hours of continuous recording, a 1,000mAh battery, approximately 120 minutes of charging time, multiple AI models, and transcription and translation in 113 languages, further enhancing its workplace support capabilities.
Its target users include sales professionals, business development teams, executives, consultants, healthcare professionals, and creators. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is ¥39,800 including tax, while the product is scheduled to be offered for ¥29,800 including tax during the launch promotion.
The product complies with GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 requirements for privacy and security, and provides safeguards that allow data to be updated or deleted at any time.
