As individual investors' interest has grown since the Nikkei 225 first reached the ¥70,000 range in June 2026, this program follows the behind-the-scenes work through which professional managers develop and refine assets every day.
Against the backdrop of the Nikkei 225 surpassing ¥70,000 for the first time ever in June and growing investment awareness among individual investors, the program focuses on the day-to-day management of investment trusts, exploring how assets are selected and nurtured for the future.
It introduces two contrasting investment approaches: Commons Asset Management's Commons 30 Fund and Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management's eMAXIS Slim All Country. Commons 30 is an active fund that selectively invests in approximately 30 companies from a long-term perspective, targeting annual returns of around 12% since it began operations in 2009.
Known as All Country, eMAXIS Slim All Country is an index fund that seeks diversified exposure to approximately 2,400 securities across 47 countries, keeping fees low while capturing global growth. Muramatsu Yusuke (村松祐介), who manages the fund, prepares currencies from 13 countries and regions and monitors the markets every day.
The program follows analysts considering potential investments for Commons 30, as well as a visit to a TDK plant to examine expanding demand for TFM inductors and a list of approximately 500 areas for improvement identified on site. Ii Tetsuro (伊井哲朗) remains committed to the philosophy of long-term investment and emphasizes the importance of assessing corporate growth.
