LINE Yahoo has launched its LINE AI Reservation AI telephone service for restaurants. The AI automates the process from accepting to confirming reservations and integrates with the Toreta Reservation Ledger to check availability and suggest alternative times.
LINE Yahoo has launched the full-scale version of LINE AI Reservation, a voice-interactive AI telephone service available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service prevents reservations from being missed outside business hours and during busy periods, while automating reservation confirmations, changes, cancellations and suggestions of alternative times. Availability checks and reservation confirmations are handled through integration with the Toreta Reservation Ledger, and reservation details are registered automatically.
LINE AI Reservation is intended to reduce the burden of handling telephone calls and address concerns about Japanese-language support. The store management screen allows staff to view conversation summaries and review both audio and transcribed text. The service can also answer questions about store information other than reservations through natural voice interactions, and stores can edit registered FAQs from the management screen.
The service is available with no initial fee, the first month free and a monthly fee starting at ¥10,000 (excluding tax). The test version was evaluated at approximately 60 stores, with reported benefits including accepting reservations outside business hours and reducing the workload associated with telephone calls. Some users also said their concerns about Japanese-language support had been reduced.
The labor shortage in the restaurant industry has been cited as a background factor, with the industry described as experiencing a high level of labor scarcity based on a survey by Teikoku Databank. LINE notification messaging is planned for a future release but is not currently available.
