ソラコム won the 2026 Porter Prize organised by the School of International Corporate Strategy at Hitotsubashi Business School. The judging comprehensively evaluated the strategy’s distinctiveness and consistency, innovation and profitability, and recognised the company’s efforts to democratise technology centred on AI and IoT.
ソラコム’s AI/IoT communications platform SORACOM can be used on a pay-as-you-go basis starting with a single SIM, and supports more than 200 countries and regions and over 550 telecommunications carriers. Its self-service structure allows users to design their own combinations of functions, achieving both development efficiency and low prices.
The number of contracted lines across the ソラコム group exceeds 10 million. Other factors considered in the award included cost reductions enabled by its cloud-native communications infrastructure, technical capabilities supported by more than 100 patents, and its user community’s accumulated use cases.
The company says it will continue to promote the “democratisation of technology” centred on AI and IoT, providing advanced technologies in an accessible form and seeking to create new innovation. Details of the award are available on the official Porter Prize website.
