The final was held at Sendai Municipal Baseball Stadium, with 日本製紙石巻 (Miyagi) facing JR East Tohoku (Miyagi). Ishinomaki scored only 1 run and suffered a comprehensive 10-run defeat. After the game remained 0-0 through the fourth inning, JR Tohoku repeatedly strung together hits and extra-base hits to open up the game.
日本製紙石巻 used 5 pitchers in succession, but they struggled with their control and conceded 2 runs at a time. In the eighth inning, with 2 outs and a runner on second, the batting lineup could manage only 1 run back, on a timely hit by No. 2 batter Odakura (小田倉). The pitching succession of Saito (斎藤), Kai (甲斐), Kodera (小寺), Naga (生長) and Imamura (今村) of 日介 kept the defense in the game, but the team was unable to score further.
After the game, manager Ito (伊藤) reflected on the team's response in the early innings and cited improvements in batting technique, pitch selection and baserunning as issues for the future. Miyagawa (宮川), one of the captains and the recipient of the Fighting Spirit Award, pledged to avenge the defeat next season and said the team would aim to improve the level of both its batters and pitchers.
Ishinomaki's season ended with another defeat, following the first-representative deciding game in the Tohoku qualifier for the Intercity Baseball Tournament, and the team is expected to challenge again next season. Kobayashi (小林) performed strongly in the heart of the lineup, while Imamura (今村) sought to provide stability as a relief pitcher, and the individual players' development was expected to contribute to the next tournament.
