As the second joint initiative by JR East, Seibu Railway and the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo, the three parties will launch the limited-time event “Magical Winter” and wrap Shinkansen train cars from autumn 2026.
The second joint initiative by JR East, Seibu Railway and Warner Bros. Studio Japan LLC has been announced. The three parties plan to hold the limited-time event “Magical Winter,” centered on a digital stamp rally, and wrap one E7 series trainset on the Joetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen, offering new experiences to visitors to the East Japan region and areas along Seibu Railway lines.
“Magical Winter” is a limited-time winter event to be held at the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo from 13 November, featuring a stamp rally in which participants collect stamps of magical creatures inspired by the Forbidden Forest.
One E7 series trainset, consisting of 12 cars, will be used on the Joetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen. The exterior is scheduled to be wrapped with designs of magical creatures from the Harry Potter series under the theme “Let’s go meet the magical creatures.” The train will operate between Tokyo and Niigata and between Tokyo and Tsuruga, with the service scheduled to begin on 13 November 2026 and run for approximately one year.
Details of the campaign will be provided on the campaign page below. The operators state that the operating plan may change.
