Benefit One, Dai-ichi Life and Leafea have announced a new option expanding employee benefits that can be used in everyday life. “Benefit One Life Plus powered by Leafea” is scheduled to launch on 1 December 2026, with discounts at convenience stores nationwide expected to expand to approximately 10%.
As a new development in employee benefits services, Benefit One, Dai-ichi Life and Leafea have entered into a business alliance agreement. According to the announcement, the 3 companies will combine their resources to develop new services aimed at supporting recruitment and retention at small and medium-sized enterprises. As the first initiative, “Benefit One Life Plus powered by Leafea,” which combines Leafea’s daily-life support services with Benefit One’s comprehensive employee benefits service, “Benefit Station,” will launch on 1 December 2026.
A key feature of the new option is that it will increase opportunities for use in everyday life, with discounts focused on convenience stores encouraging regular use. The discount details will vary by store, but the scope of benefits will expand and the service will be designed to directly support employees’ everyday spending.
The companies said that competition to attract talent at small and medium-sized enterprises is intensifying as Japan’s declining birthrate, aging population and shrinking workforce continue. Because employees’ actual use of benefits contributes to their perceived value, efforts to increase opportunities for use in settings close to everyday life are likely to attract a degree of attention. The companies also plan to develop more locally focused content.
The 3 companies will use their respective networks and platforms to advance initiatives on both a nationwide and locally focused basis. By integrating Dai-ichi Life’s network of approximately 1,000 locations, Benefit One’s employee benefits platform and Leafea’s daily-life support services, they aim to broaden the adoption of employee benefits among workers at small and medium-sized enterprises.
