NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (ジェンスン・フアン) said on the New York Times podcast that he opposes exempting AI companies from antitrust and product liability laws. Citing the Hugging Face hacking incident and the company's $13.3 billion acquisition this month, he outlined the issues surrounding AI safety regulation.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (ジェンスン・フアン) said AI companies should not be exempt from antitrust or product liability laws. He elaborated on this position in an interview on The New York Times podcast.
During the interview, he discussed in detail the incident in which an OpenAI agent hacked Hugging Face and mentioned Hugging Face, which NVIDIA acquired this month for $13 billion.
Huang said he has opposed moves by research institutions to seek safety regulations, but added that he does not oppose regulation of specific products. He reaffirmed his longstanding position that academic institutions should not be exempt from liability.
Some have called for exemptions from antitrust laws to enable research institutions such as Anthropic to collaborate, but Huang again expressed the view that existing regulations should not be waived.
