A dementia education outreach class and frailty-prevention exercises for local residents were held in Kakogawa on 8 October 2026. The instructor, Koji Sugimoto (杉本浩司) of Medical Care Service, explained dementia and situational awareness, the effects of dehydration and undernutrition, and ways to engage with people in everyday life.
The outreach class was conducted by Medical Care Service, a group company of Gakken Holdings, at the request of the Kakogawa Community Comprehensive Support Centre. The lecture covered the early symptoms of dementia and factors to consider when choosing facilities that provide more opportunities to go out.
The frailty-prevention exercises focused on movements that are easy to continue every day and explained ways to prevent and improve age-related decline. The instructors have conducted dementia education outreach classes for many years and explained their policy of continuing to offer them to companies and local communities.
This initiative presents the dementia education outreach program together with an introduction to the Gakken Holdings subsidiary and its instructor, and is positioned as part of the expansion of the group’s activities in dementia care.
