パンチ工業, estimated to hold the world’s leading share in custom mold components, has raised its full-year forecast against the backdrop of strong first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 and progress under its medium-term plan. The recovery in domestic factory operations and the rising proportion of custom products are supporting margin improvement.
パンチ工業, which manufactures precision mold components for automobiles and electronic components, is estimated to retain the world’s leading share in custom mold components. Custom products account for 64% of mold-component sales, compared with 36% for catalog products. Of its ¥42.1 billion in revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2026, mold components accounted for ¥39 billion. Custom products are differentiated by the company’s ability to process products to customer specifications and provide high-mix, low-volume products on short lead times. Cost and operating improvements are expected to contribute to results for the fiscal year ending March 2027.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue increased 6.7% year on year to ¥10.852 billion, while operating profit rose 47.4% to ¥566 million. The operating margin improved from 3.8% to 5.2%. The recovery in domestic factory operations improved the cost ratio and absorbed higher selling, general and administrative expenses.
Under its VC28 medium-term management plan, the company aims to increase its operating margin from 4.8% in the fiscal year ended March 2026 to 6.8% in the fiscal year ending March 2029. It also plans to increase custom-product sales from ¥24.9 billion to ¥30.7 billion and raise the custom-product ratio from 64% to 68%. Collaboration with ミスミグループ to strengthen cost competitiveness is also expected to support margin improvement. However, some cost pressure is expected in the fiscal year ending March 2027 due to higher raw-material prices and the impact of domestic investment.
