The company operating “Mobilityk Service,” a transportation booking platform for visitors to Japan, expanded its business from a “point” to an “area” and fully launched its land operator business in May.
The company, which started with Wi-Fi rentals, has in recent years expanded into eSIM and is prioritizing account growth. It explained that eSIM can be handled entirely through the app regardless of the destination country, reducing the effort required and tending to increase lifetime value. Along with this, the company indicated a policy of expanding the core of its business.
Under its Life Media Tech business, the company operates multiple websites supporting the daily lives of visitors to and foreign residents in Japan. Its Mobilityk Service, launched in January 2024, was described as performing well. The service enables users to book and purchase transportation options, including Shinkansen services, highway buses, rental cars and airport transfer vehicles, in one transaction. It was reportedly used by approximately 2.09% of visitors to Japan as of March 2026. The company also emphasized its differentiation from competitors, including the sophisticated systemization of inventory management.
Regarding competitors, the company noted that major operators in some cases already handle these functions in-house, while citing its foreign-language design and high proportion of multilingual staff as strengths. It explained that the business has high barriers to entry, including sales-channel development based on face-to-face negotiations and real-time display of all timetables.
In terms of the business environment, travel restrictions affecting China have not affected the sales mix, which remains below 3%. Inflows from Southeast Asia and Europe are increasing, while airfares have risen due to the situation in the Middle East. Against the backdrop of the weaker yen and growing demand to visit Japan, the company expressed the view that there is room for annual visitor numbers to Japan to increase to around 40 million. To support its share price, the company plans to pursue M&A, expand its products and services, and strengthen its investor relations activities.
