Sensornode, based in Laos and advancing predictive maintenance for manufacturing operations through AIoT, has demonstrated the early detection of signs of equipment failure and energy management centered on its Sensorclouds platform. The company aims to expand its customer base by 2030 and develop its business across Southeast Asia.
Sensornode IoT Technology (センサーノード), based in Laos, is promoting the adoption of AIoT, which combines artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. Its founder is Tee Chuantheby (ティー・チュアンテビー). The interview for this article took place in 2023, and the company is conducting demonstration tests and introducing systems across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture and energy.
The company’s core service, Sensorclouds, connects IoT devices such as vibration sensors to the cloud for 24-hour monitoring and automatically notifies the relevant personnel when it detects abnormal vibrations or energy consumption. In manufacturing operations, it is used for predictive maintenance to identify signs of equipment failure in advance. In some cases, it has helped avoid production stoppages and reduce maintenance costs by enabling the early detection of bearing wear, loose components and shaft misalignment.
In agriculture, the system monitors soil, crops and livestock and enables the automated control of fertilization, feeding, irrigation and ventilation. It is designed to improve productivity while reducing resource waste.
The company’s strength lies not only in software development but also in its ability to handle the entire process, from sensor design and communications network construction to cloud connectivity and on-site installation. The flexible support provided by its local engineers is positioned as a key differentiator from larger companies.
