Notion has been added to the government’s ISMAP Cloud Services List, with its core features, including Notion AI, and Notion Calendar covered. The company announced that ISMAP registration confirms compliance with the security requirements of government agencies and large companies.
Notion Labs Japan announced that Notion complies with ISMAP, the Japanese government’s security assessment program for government information systems, and has been added to the Cloud Services List. The cloud services covered include Notion’s core features, Notion Calendar and Notion AI.
ISMAP is a Japanese government program for assessing and registering the security requirements of cloud services. It aims to ensure standards for government procurement and facilitate adoption. Notion was deemed compliant following an independent audit by an ISMAP-registered audit organization, and applied for and obtained registration based on the audit report.
The significance of the registration is that eligible organizations, including government agencies, can now verify the service’s security status under the ISMAP framework. It was also indicated that the registration could serve as an assessment factor for companies with public-sector customers and companies operating critical infrastructure.
Notion has also been adopted by the Digital Agency and is used for its internal operations. It was indicated that ISMAP registration would enable the provision of a safer use environment. Notion was introduced as a workspace that centralizes knowledge, projects and AI tools, and its business-support functions linked to AI agents were explained.
