To coincide with Saudi Arabia’s National Day, “Saudi National Day 96,” a Japanese-produced short anime will be released. The project is directed by Nakamura Ryosuke (中村亮介), with character designs by Hosoi Mieko (細居美恵子), and production handled by MANAA ANIMATION.
A new short anime commemorating Saudi Arabia’s National Day will be released in conjunction with an event on 23 September 2026. The project will tie in with events in Saudi Arabia and depict people’s dreams, beginning with a green magic pen.
The new anime’s concept is “Draw it, make it come true.” It is directed by Nakamura Ryosuke (中村亮介), with character designs by Hosoi Mieko (細居美恵子) and animation production by MANAA ANIMATION.
Previous commemorative projects were produced in collaboration with CygamesPictures from 2021, Bandai Namco Filmworks in 2024 and OLM in 2025. They have received more than 300 million views in total.
An official comment said the parties were pleased to be able to produce a project each year with Japanese creators, and expressed hope that the anime would provide an opportunity to showcase Saudi Arabia’s appeal to the world.
