CCIX announced on 7 August that it had entered into a memorandum of business cooperation with Vietnam’s commercial bank Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) to build a strategic partnership. The two companies will strengthen their framework for supporting Japanese companies’ expansion into Vietnam by leveraging each other’s networks and customer bases.
Specifically, CCIX will leverage its network of Japanese companies and operating companies, while making mutual use of OCB’s financial capabilities and network of companies in Vietnam, to expand opportunities for financial and business support. The initiative also aims to provide financial support to Vietnamese companies and create financing opportunities.
The initiative is intended to deepen financial and business cooperation between Japan and Vietnam and contribute to the growth of companies in both countries and economic cooperation. OCB is listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, with its listing in 2021 cited as a fact.
The article positions the initiative as part of a trend in which companies from Japan and Vietnam are accelerating market development through capital and business partnerships. Further progress in specific areas of cooperation and additional announcements are expected.
