In the energy industry, residential battery storage systems were permitted to participate in virtual power plants in 2026, increasing the importance of using distributed energy resources and demand response. Tokyo Gas has promoted the networking of battery storage systems since 2024 and is accelerating the business by expanding its purchase service for power discharged to the grid.
The development used a Japan-Vietnam hybrid scrum team, the Japan-Vietnam Scrum, and continuously improved the UI/UX through validation with approximately 70 monitors. The completed application visualizes battery storage control histories and contributions to society, with the aim of lowering the psychological barriers to use that previously existed.
